  • Theory : Written Paper
    • MCQ : 5 responses for each stem, minus system, not carried  over
    • MSQ : short essay type question
  • Practical Test
    • Morbid specimen, microscopic slides and LCD display

Summative Assessment
  • Theory paper

For each paper :
MCQs: 1 hr (40 marks)
MSQs: 6 out of 8 questions: 2 hrs (60 marks)

  • Practical ( 100 marks )

Each student will have to go through the tests made up of 2 components.
10 Morbid specimens:  30 minutes (50 marks)
Histological slides
(8 LCD slides and 2 microscopic slides): 30 minutes (50 marks)

Criteria for Pass/Fail/Credit/Distinction

Status Criteria
Pass Overall aggregate: 50% in separate compartments (class work, final theory, Practical exam)
Moderated Pass Overall aggregate: 46% in only one compartment
Fail Overall aggregate: less than 46% or
Moderated marks in two compartments
Passed with Distinction

All the following criteria must be fulfilled.
(1) Class work

(a) must have score at least 65%
(b) must have appeared for all the class tests and scored at least 65% in any of the test.

(2) Final theory paper

(a) must have scored at least 65% in each of the four theory compartments
(b) no un-attempted questions or zero in MSQ
(c) must be of sufficient quality to satisfy the examiners

(3) Practical Paper

(a) must have scored at least 50% in each of the compartments
(b) no un-attempted questions or zero in each of the compartments

(4) Final score: 75/100 marks and above
(5) In Viva voce, must satisfy by the examiners

Passed with Credit Those students who attain 65% in all subjects in Third MBBS and Final Part I will be awarded CREDIT for that year.
