The Pathology Department was established in January, 2018. It was composed of one Professor, two Associate Professors, one Lecturer and one Assistant Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Cho Cho Myint, M.B.,B.S, M.Med.Sc, Ph.D (Pathology), Dip.Med.Ed is the First and Foremost Head of the Department. She has started her role at UMTGI since 2018 up to now.
In end of 2018, three Assistant Lecturers were posted to the department. In 2019, two more Lecturers and two Assistant Lecturers were added. Now total 12 academic staffs and 3 staffs are present in the department.
Pathology means the study of disease (from Ancient Greek words, pathos = suffering and logos= study). This subject covers general pathology, systemic pathology and pathological basis of some infectious diseases for the undergraduate training.
