Department of Physiology

Physiology Department in the University of Medicine, Taunggyi was established in February 2016 by the first and foremost head of the department, Professor Dr. Phyu Phyu Khin. She began to run the department with 4 academic staffs (1 lecturer, 2 assistant lecturers, 1 demonstrator) and 1 laboratory assistant. In an effort to organize the department, Professor and staffs tried to fill office supplies and teaching facilities. Another 5 demonstrators and 2 general workers were appointed just before the first 2nd MBBS class. It was started on January 2017 with 124 students. Professor relinquished her duty after 4 years, on April 2020. For this academic year (2019-2020), department is responsible for teaching and training of 81 undergraduate students.
