In all classes, only students who have obtainted 75 percent class attendance and who have performed their class work satisfactorily are permitted to sit for the final examination.
In addition, para-clinical & clinical students who have failed to attain a 75 percent attendance in clinical postings are debarred from sitting for their respective examinations.
Marks obtained from the formative assessment contribute 30 percent towards the marks in the final examination (summative assessment).
In the undergraduate final examination, a candidate must obtain 50 percent of the total score for promotion and distinction respectively.
A student who is unable to sit for any examination is considered to have failed, unless he/she has been declared medically unfit by the medical board when exemption is given.
Students who cannot sit for any examination due to illness is required to apply for medical leave at least seven days before the final examination. A medical certificate from a consultant duly countersigned by the medical superintendent of the Hospital has to be submitted to the medial board of the University before exemption can be given.
